Top Breast Cancer Fundraising Ideas this Pinktober

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and every October (also known as Pinktober) thousands of people around the world come together to raise funds, show support for those affected by breast cancer and honour those who are no longer with us. If you want to hold an event for Pinktober, here are some popular breast cancer fundraising ideas to give you some inspiration.

Host a morning tea, breakfast or afternoon tea

This is a simple yet effective way to bring everyone together and raise funds and awareness about breast cancer. You can host this event at your workplace, home or in the local community. Ask everyone to bring a plate or bake some delicious treats and make a donation to attend. You can even get creative and bake some yummy pink snacks or turn this into a bake sale to raise even more funds.

Walk for Breast Cancer

A walk or walkathon is a popular way to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation, while getting some exercise at the same time! It is a great way to get your local community involved and bring everyone together to show their support. To increase awareness at your event, we recommend including some of our pink Holi powder to create a colour run or colour throw at the end of your event.

Host a Pink Party

Hosting a pink party is another fun way to get your friends together and have a good time while raising funds for a great cause. You can choose to make it a work event, a party at your home or open it up for the whole community to get involved. You can go all out with the decorations – pink streamers, balloons, pink-themed food and dress in pink to show your support for those affected by breast cancer. Why not include some karaoke as well? Charge an attendance fee or ask for donations throughout the night to help raise funds.

Shave your head or dye your hair

Shaving or colouring your hair is a powerful way to show your support for those affected by cancer and raise awareness. You can turn this into a big fundraising event with activities and pink-themed fun planned throughout the day, with the main event involving everyone gathering around to watch your head shaving take place. Alternatively, if you’re not ready to go the whole way by shaving your head, dyeing your hair or facial hair is a fun alternative that will help to raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Hold a Raffle

You can host a standalone raffle at your workplace or within your community or add it to another Pinktober event that you are a part of to help increase your donations for Breast Cancer research and awareness. Brainstorm some great prizes that people will want to win and then ask your workplace or other local businesses and connections for prize donations. We recommend packaging your raffle tickets as well – e.g. 1 for $5 or 5 for $20 to help raise more funds.
